Boston Consulting Group (BCG) stands as a premier global management consulting firm, renowned for its expertise in business strategy. With a presence in over 90 offices across more than 50 countries, BCG's Global Services division plays a crucial role in delivering essential management services, encompassing finance, IT, risk management, legal operations, and human resources.
The Partner Services Group (PSG) merges finance and HR functions to provide support to BCG's Partnership and individual Managing Directors and Partners (MDPs). PSG is responsible for overseeing the global framework that governs incentives through the annual performance evaluation process, as well as compensation and equity programs for MDPs on a worldwide scale.
As a Finance Analyst within PSG, your role will involve supporting a diverse array of reporting and analytical tasks for MDPs across various regions. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the global framework pertaining to MDP incentives, compensation, and equity, while collaborating closely with PSG and Finance departments, including Tax, Treasury, and Global Accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and analyze financial models to uncover trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for enhancement using extensive data sets and statistical methodologies.
- Generate and monitor financial estimates for MDPs on both an accrued and cash basis, considering various geographies, currencies, and local program specifics.
- Manage MDP lifecycle events (Office Transfers, External Hires, Departures), applying compensation and equity implications to financial models, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation, and maintaining effective communication across relevant networks.
- Execute and review Excel models and visualizations to deliver insights into the compensation and equity framework, aiding senior stakeholder decision-making.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting the impacts of compensation and equity transactions across different regions.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of MDP scenario projections, adhering to country-specific program parameters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with overarching business objectives.
- Effectively manage projects, ensuring that value-added documentation and analyses across various platforms are updated, maintained accurately, and delivered punctually.
Additional Opportunities:
- Work with various teams to enhance data and security management, utilizing workflow tools such as Alteryx and Microsoft Automate.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to refine PSG-internal and MDP-facing processes and products.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and metrics using tools like Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, and SQL.
- Automate operational processes and improve reporting through best practices in visualization and data storytelling.
You are a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, adept at managing multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.
Key Skills:
- Meticulous attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Analytical curiosity and the capability to thoughtfully interpret data and discern patterns.
- Confidence in posing probing questions and making recommendations grounded in data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt messages for diverse audiences.
- Ability to cultivate trusted working relationships and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Proactive self-starter with strong critical thinking skills and creativity in problem-solving.
- Flexibility and openness to new ideas and iterative change processes.
Successful experience in a fast-paced, matrixed environment is essential. We seek a well-rounded individual who can navigate complex challenges and collaboratively illuminate insights for leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in a data analytics role.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, nested functions, mixed references, arrays, etc.).
- Basic understanding of finance and economics principles.
- Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Capacity to work independently on multiple, concurrent assignments with minimal supervision.
- Experience with data visualization and automation tools (Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI) is advantageous but not mandatory.
You will be part of the Partner Services Group (PSG), an integral component of BCG's Global Services function. This diverse team of experts, operators, and specialists spans all levels, from MDP to entry-level staff, and operates across multiple countries.
This role will be situated within the PSG Analytics & MDP Support team, collaborating closely with the Compensation & Equity team and other PSG sub-functions.
