We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to assist with the appointment of a Driver, on a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension at the client's discretion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation and be able to provide safe and efficient transport services to and from day services on behalf of Shropshire Council.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe and efficient transportation services to and from day services, ensuring the well-being and safety of passengers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information for all transportation services, including vehicle checks and route planning.
- Liaise with the Specialist Travel Coordinator (Fleet Services) on a regular basis to ensure that services and staff training are efficient and up-to-date.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks before each route commences, ensuring that vehicles are properly prepared and clean for their route.
- Ensure all risk assessments are up-to-date in the vehicle pack and that all necessary equipment is available and in good working order.
- Complete and maintain accurate route and vehicle diaries, including any issues or concerns encountered during transportation services.
- Have a thorough knowledge of transportation equipment, including harnesses, clamping systems, and other necessary equipment, and regularly inspect and maintain this equipment as needed.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will be available to start immediately or at short notice.
- They must have the right to work in the UK.
- A basic DBS check will be required for this role.
