Multi Activity Instructor - Summer Camp

Working Hours: 08:30 - 17:00

Compensation: £530.76 per week, based on age, experience, and qualifications.

Accountable to: Camp Senior Team and Area Manager. Barracudas is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young individuals, and we expect all staff to uphold this commitment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and organize the Multi Activity area to create an engaging and welcoming environment for children.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures to guarantee a fun and secure atmosphere for the children in your care.
  • Design and conduct thrilling and safe activities that are age-appropriate, following the training provided by Barracudas.
  • Deliver safety guidelines and demonstrate the proper use of equipment, ensuring compliance.
  • Provide attentive supervision to meet the needs of children throughout the day, including during breaks and meal times.
  • Complete all necessary documentation related to Multi Activity sessions on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Encourage full participation from all children in group activities.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members who may assist in your sessions.
  • Regularly inspect Multi Activity equipment for safety and functionality.
  • Take charge of the overall welfare and safeguarding of children.
  • Lead specialized skills-building courses.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the site and ensure all equipment is properly stored.
  • Ensure safe usage of all equipment during sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Complete a complimentary 1-day Multi Activity course prior to starting employment.
  • Must be 18 years or older by the start of the contract.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
  • Provide satisfactory professional or academic references.
  • Possess enthusiasm, care, and organizational skills, along with excellent communication abilities and initiative.
  • Obtain an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or have an existing enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
  • Complete annual Online Training.
  • Participate in an Induction Training Day before the first working season.
  • Assist with the end-of-camp pack-up.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety regulations by following instructions and demonstrating a proactive approach to safety.
  • All organized activities must be suitable for the children based on your qualifications and knowledge.
  • Encourage children to engage in new activities and follow the scheduled activity program.
  • Maintain awareness of children's safety and whereabouts, treating them as individuals and communicating daily about behavior expectations.
  • Adhere to all camp systems, including registration and collection procedures, and support colleagues in doing the same.
  • Serve as a positive role model by promoting healthy lifestyles and hygiene practices.
  • Report any Child Protection concerns to the Senior Team or designated personnel.
  • Make reasonable adjustments to accommodate children with additional needs or medical conditions.
  • Depending on staff availability, you may be asked to lead Skills Builder sessions.
  • All staff may be required to assist with swimming sessions.
