Transforming the lives of young individuals

About HAYS-2

HAYS-2 is an innovative non-profit organization that has been providing exceptional support for young individuals across East Anglia for over five decades. The principle of co-production with staff, young individuals, and families is central to their mission.

They offer a variety of residential services, a fostering agency, a leaving care service - Staying Close Staying Connected, and support for disabled children and their families.

As a trauma-informed organization, all young individuals and staff are backed by a highly skilled therapeutic team. Their unique lifelong commitment ensures that even after young individuals transition from their care, they will continue to receive support.

At HAYS-2, they believe that if it is not suitable for their own children, it is not acceptable for anyone in the HAYS-2 community, and they strive to provide the highest quality of care.

About the Role

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to take on a pivotal role in leading the care division of a progressive and successful charitable organization at the forefront of systemic change in children's social care. As a member of the executive team, you will shape the charity's direction, driving the enhancement and growth of services through visionary strategic leadership.

To excel in this leadership position, candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in a senior management role within a care service environment, experience in managing teams and/or a portfolio of work functions, and a background in working with children, young individuals, and families. A thorough understanding of the child care services sector, the voluntary sector, care standards, and regulatory processes is essential. Additionally, candidates should hold a professional qualification at the degree level.

This is an opportune moment to join the HAYS-2 team as:

  • 100% of services are rated good or outstanding by regulatory bodies.
  • Staff turnover is low.
  • Exceptional outcomes are achieved for young individuals.
  • A high-performing care leadership team is in place.
  • Plans for growth are underway.
  • Influence is being exerted on policy and decision-makers.

If you are passionate about enhancing the lives of young individuals and can demonstrate impactful results, this role offers the chance to advance your career and elevate HAYS-2's care services to new heights.

Benefits

As a not-for-profit organization, HAYS-2 is dedicated to investing in its employees and ensuring a healthy work/life balance, which includes:

  • An excellent relocation package.
  • Golden Hello payment.
  • Generous annual leave, including additional service-related holidays after 2 years.
  • Company-funded medical cash plan.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Access to extensive training and development opportunities, including funded level 7 courses.
  • Membership to the Blue Light benefits platform for discounts across various shops and services.
  • Multiple wellbeing initiatives.
  • Pension salary sacrifice options.
  • The opportunity to influence HAYS-2's strategy and direction as part of the Executive and Leadership Teams.
  • Life assurance equivalent to 3x your annual salary.

And much more.

If you are eager to develop your career and make a significant impact in the lives of children and young individuals, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Additional Information

People are the most valuable asset in our organization. We recognize that the key to delivering the highest quality of care is to ensure a diverse workforce that utilizes their life experiences to provide children and young individuals with a well-rounded start in life. We welcome and encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds.

The initial interview will follow a Safe Care/Warner style format. Successful candidates will then proceed to a formal interview.

An enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this role, and the cost will be covered by HAYS-2.

To comply with regulatory requirements, candidates will be asked to provide a complete employment history.

We are open to considering reasonable adjustments that candidates may require during the application or recruitment process. If you have specific requests, please communicate them during the application process.
