About the Department

Position Overview
The successful candidate will engage in the BioDiMoBot initiative, aimed at developing a sophisticated system for the autonomous assessment of aquatic biodiversity and ecological health. This project focuses on creating a cutting-edge measurement system to monitor biodiversity and understand the factors contributing to ecosystem decline. By employing novel biohybrid sensors, the project will evaluate both organismic and environmental stress levels. The BioDiMoBot's capability for long-term, automated data collection will yield valuable insights into the ecological conditions of aquatic habitats.
The role involves designing, developing, and implementing frameworks for deep learning, computer vision, image processing, and data analysis tailored to the BioDiMoBot system. Key responsibilities include:
- Creating and training extensive deep learning models for species identification and environmental stress evaluation.
- Integrating these models into the robotic system.
- Processing and analyzing substantial datasets of images and underwater acoustics.
- Deploying AI solutions for real-time data collection and interpretation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and collaborative research projects under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.
- Design and develop advanced deep learning and image processing frameworks.
- Communicate complex technical material effectively to diverse audiences.
