Postdoctoral Research Associate in Quantum Technologies

Durham University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team in the Department of Physics. The successful candidate will work on a research project focused on the development of Rydberg-atom based sensors for security and radar applications.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality research in the field of quantum technologies, with a focus on Rydberg-atom based sensors.
- Develop and implement new research methods and techniques to advance the project goals.
- Collaborate with the research team to identify areas for research, develop new research methods, and extend the research portfolio.
- Present research outputs and activities to audiences, including research sponsors, academic and non-academic audiences.
- Engage with the QuSIT Hub and attend Hub activities as appropriate.
- PhD in quantum/atomic Physics or a related subject.
- Experience in conducting high-quality academic research.
- Demonstrable ability to write material of a quality commensurate with publication in highly-ranked journals.
- Demonstrable ability to present research papers at international conferences and communicate complex information to specialists and within the wider academic community.
- Demonstrable ability to collaborate with industrial partners.
