Postdoctoral Research Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at Durham University. The successful candidate will work on a prestigious project focused on ecological sustainability and indigenous ontologies, including traditional ecological knowledge. The project aims to understand the ways in which indigenous ecological knowledge can provide a source of resiliency, mitigation, and adaptation to the effects of climate change.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality academic research in the field of ecological anthropology and cultural transmission.
- Develop and implement research designs and proposals in collaboration with other academics.
- Analyze mixed qualitative-quantitative data on the cultural transmission of indigenous ecological knowledge.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on research outputs and activities to various audiences.
- Contribute to the development of research objectives and proposals.
- Work with the Principal Investigator and other colleagues to identify areas for research and develop new research methods.
- Deal with problems that may affect the achievement of research objectives and deadlines.
- Liaise with research colleagues and make internal and external contacts to develop knowledge and understanding.
- Plan and manage own research activity and resources.
- Contribute to fostering a collegial and respectful working environment.
- Engage in wider citizenship and support the department and wider discipline.
- Engage in continuing professional development.
