Job Title: Senior Commercial Manager
Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland (hybrid working arrangement – 3 days a week in the office)

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager with a background in the Defence sector to join our team at Thales. As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for proactively managing and directly influencing our bids and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
On a day-to-day basis, you will be involved in:
- Providing advice and recommendations to the business on commercial issues, risks, liabilities, and opportunities related to business agreements, bids, and projects.
- Developing commercial propositions for major win-business campaigns.
- Supporting senior management and participating in commercial negotiations with customers, consortium partners, and third parties.
- Providing bid and project teams with advice, recommendations, and costings pertaining to UK and International contracts, including Direct Selling Costs, Credit Insurance, Bank Guarantees, and Letter of Credits.
- Responding to and negotiating customers' proposed contractual agreements and Contract 'Changes', and supporting senior management in the management of such changes.
- Identifying and managing issues and disputes arising with customers in conjunction with the Legal function.
About You:
Ideally, you will have:
- A commercial background in the defence/aerospace/technology sector, with experience providing commercial/contract management expertise through bidding/winning business and programme delivery.
- Demonstrable experience working within a complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-site organisation.
- Multidisciplinary experience, ideally with qualifications in at least one of the following areas: LLB, Engineering, Finance, Programme Delivery.
- Adept at building and managing relationships across all levels and throughout the identify, bidding, negotiation, and delivery phases of bids/projects.
- Proven analytical and written skills, and the ability to understand pricing, risks, and mitigation of contracts.
