Job Overview

Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel is proud to partner with a leading industry client in search of a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team in a permanent role.

The ideal candidate will possess a University or Technical Degree in Engineering and have experience working with Utility-scale solar PV projects in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Develop effective relationships with contractors, suppliers, engineers, consultants, and team members to ensure successful, timely completion of deliverables that support project goals.
  • Site Monitoring: Oversee mechanical work at the project site to ensure it meets contractual obligations.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure projects are built according to plans created and submitted, adhering to established standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Logistics, Quality, HSE, and support functions as needed.
  • Contractor Management: Review contractors' QA plans & procedures and bring them into conformance with project requirements, supported by the project team.
  • Audit and Compliance: Conduct site condition audits and equipment installation audits of subcontractors on the site.
  • Scope Verification: Perform audits to verify accurate completion of scope of work in accordance with the quality plan and HSE plan.
  • Issue Identification: Identify and communicate application and installation concerns, escalating them to site management for resolution and future issue prevention.
