Senior Therapeutic Radiographer - Isotopes and Brachytherapy

The University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Therapeutic Radiographer to join our team in the Radiotherapy Department. As a Senior Therapeutic Radiographer, you will play a key role in coordinating and supporting the isotope and brachytherapy practice in Radiotherapy at UCLH.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and support the isotope and brachytherapy practice in Radiotherapy at UCLH
  • Train junior staff rotating through the department in brachytherapy procedures
  • Carry out vaginal vault insertions and train others in this field
  • Coordinate theatre sessions and maintain equipment
  • Work with the multidisciplinary team to maintain a positive working relationship
  • Provide specialist clinical training and undertake presentations
  • Work flexibly in a variety of situations and participate in shift work
Requirements:
  • BSc in Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent formal qualification
  • Health Profession Council (HPC) registration as a therapy or nuclear medicine radiographer
  • Clinical experience in brachytherapy and/or Molecular Targeted Radiotherapy
  • Practical experience in planning and delivering a wide range of radiotherapy techniques

The successful candidate will be a recognized practitioner in their specific field, setting an example to junior staff and being available to advise colleagues in other areas. They will work within the quality system, question and propose changes to procedures when necessary, to maintain the validity and appropriateness of the system with new and changing practices.
