Maintenance Officer

The Heart of Newhaven Community is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Maintenance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep, maintenance, and repairs of our buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the safety and security of our buildings and users by implementing and maintaining safety procedures and management plans.
- Facilitate and inform about the safe and practical use of our building's rooms for various activities and events.
- Keep our buildings clean and tidy, and carry out basic maintenance throughout the Heart's buildings and grounds.
- Work with the Transition Manager to escalate and plan repairs and improvements to our buildings.
- Instruct and manage contractors for both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Carry out regular building checks and complete in-house PAT testing.
- Maintain cleaning supply levels and the safe storage of cleaning products.
- 16 hours per week, with some evening and/or weekend work required.
- Annual leave: 28 days including public holidays (126 hours p.a).
- Flexible working requests considered.
