Job Summary:

Protocol Education is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Autism Support Worker to join our team. As an Autism Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children with autism and additional needs in a primary education setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to a child with autism, focusing on building trust and creating positive relationships.
  • Assist the child in developing social skills, confidence, and resilience, as well as regulating their emotions and behavior.
  • Support the teacher with whole-class learning and behavior management, as well as running interventions on a small group basis when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting children with autism.

Requirements:

  • Positive, proactive, and patient approach to working with children.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, taking advice from colleagues and senior staff, and sharing your own ideas.
  • Enthusiasm and ability to challenge and motivate all pupils.

All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
