Position: Specialist Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel is proud to present an exciting opportunity to join a reputable independent specialist institution dedicated to the education of young individuals facing unique challenges, particularly those with Autism spectrum conditions. We are in search of a compassionate and skilled Specialist Support Assistant to become part of a dedicated team focused on enhancing the educational experience for students aged 7 to 19.

Location: Independent Specialist Institution
Hourly Rate: £12.78 per hour
Annual Salary: £20,000 - £22,000, based on experience and qualifications
Employment Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized assistance to students with Autism spectrum conditions, ensuring their unique needs are addressed.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Facilitate the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
  • Work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and families to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist in managing classroom behavior and promoting a positive educational atmosphere.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting young individuals with Autism spectrum conditions and other complex communication challenges.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in education or special needs assistance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a sincere commitment to supporting young people.
  • Capability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
