Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Starfyn Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with moderate learning and attachment difficulties in a SEND school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support to students with special educational needs, helping them to overcome learning challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Escort students with learning difficulties and disabilities to their classes, ensuring they are in a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, including daily achievements and observations.
  • Document daily observations and maintain up-to-date records of student progress.
  • Support students with academic, sporting, and outdoor activities, helping them to develop independent methods and coping mechanisms.
  • Lead ELSA support sessions, providing individualized support to students in your care.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to build healthy relationships and communicate student progress.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a SEN Teaching Assistant environment, particularly with students aged 11-16 with special needs.
  • Patience, consistency, and a strong sense of emotional and physical well-being to support students with complex needs.
  • Strong knowledge of Compliance and Safeguarding procedures.
  • Relevant qualifications and training in Special Educational and related fields are advantageous but not essential.
