A highly reputable school in Essex is seeking a dedicated and reliable Site Maintenance Specialist to join their permanent staff. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the school's facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily maintenance and cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds.
  • Carry out routine inspections and minor repairs.
  • Manage security, including the opening and closing of the school premises.
  • Liaise with external contractors for larger maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are consistently met.
  • Assist with setting up rooms and equipment for school events and activities.
  • Respond promptly to any emergencies or urgent maintenance issues.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Practical skills in general maintenance and repair work.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours when needed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
