We are seeking a skilled Upholstery Technician to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced technician to design and fabricate a range of equipment, including complex bespoke seating and cushion covers, posture support pads, and mattress overlays.
Main Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Designing and fabricating equipment to meet the specifications defined by clinical assessors
- Working independently and as part of a team to meet service needs
- Practicing upholstery, tailoring, or dressmaking skills to create high-quality products
- Communicating effectively with colleagues and clinical staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need:
- A relevant qualification in textile crafts manufacture or upholstery (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in upholstery, sewing, tailoring, or pattern taking
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A flexible attitude and ability to work to deadlines
