About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and person-centred Learning Support Worker to join our team at the halow project. As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young adults with learning disabilities in our community-based learning programme, Building Futures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide highly person-centred 1:1 support to young adults, promoting life skills, independence, social skills, leisure opportunities, educational provision, and community access.
  • Report actual or potential safeguarding matters to the Project Worker, Year Leader, Building Futures management team, or Head of Safeguarding without delay.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • A good level of fitness and stamina due to the physical nature of the programme and community working.
  • Suitable references.
  • Aged 18 and above.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Professional or personal experience of learning disabilities, and experience within a health and social care and/or educational setting is desirable. However, we also pride ourselves on a values-based approach and the main skill we are looking for is an ambition to help others.
