Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical Shift Engineer to join our operations team. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining critical facilities infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation of our facility infrastructure, and conducting regular site inspections and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Facility Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure the seamless operation of our facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices.
  • Site Inspections & Monitoring: Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms to ensure optimal performance.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Oversee and execute preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, either directly or through vendor management, including managing the permit to work system.
  • Repairs & Corrective Maintenance: Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment to maintain uninterrupted service.
  • Planned Maintenance: Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities to ensure the reliability of our infrastructure.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs (Method of Procedure) and scripts.
  • Incident Response: Assist senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and take initiative in handling basic incidents based on your expertise.
  • Work Requests & Installations: Complete basic work requests and circuit installations efficiently.
  • Infrastructure Projects: Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects to enhance our facilities.
  • Works Projects: Execute small works projects, such as lighting upgrades, to improve site functionality.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Previous experience in data centre or critical environment settings.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. HV switching experience preferred.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
