About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Mechanical Engineer to join our operations team at Equinix, Inc. As a Critical Shift Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining our critical facilities infrastructure and delivering exceptional service to our data center customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the seamless operation of our facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data center alarms to ensure optimal performance.
  • Oversee and execute preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, either directly or through vendor management, including managing the permit to work system.
  • Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment to maintain uninterrupted service.
  • Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities to ensure the reliability of our infrastructure.
  • Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs (Method of Procedure) and scripts.
  • Complete basic work requests and circuit installations efficiently.
  • Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects to enhance our facilities.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Previous experience in data center or critical environment settings.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
