Community Health Therapist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Community Dental Therapist to join our team at Livewell Southwest. The successful candidate will work closely with our dental team to develop and implement oral health improvement activities, providing a comprehensive oral health service to patients with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement oral health improvement programs in line with national oral health strategies, such as Delivering Better Oral Health.
- Work closely with clinicians to ensure effective and efficient delivery of oral health programs.
- Provide oral health appointments with patients, including adults, children, and those with special needs or medical conditions.
- Apply fluoride varnish under the prescription of a clinician.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve oral health outcomes.
- Facilitate staff training in oral health promotion.
- Monitor and evaluate oral health promotion activities, maintaining accurate records and producing quarterly reports.
- Strong knowledge of oral health promotion and community dental services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, providing a comprehensive oral health service to patients with complex needs. The role will require regular travel to different locations within the city to support oral health promotion activities.
