About Us:

The Permissions & Content Licensing Team forms part of the larger Group Contracts & Business Affairs Department and is responsible for licensing extracts, covers, artwork and other copyright material for a variety of uses by third parties.

Role Summary:

Working at a senior level with little supervision, you will act as a key member of the Permissions & Content Licensing Team. You'll have responsibility for developing and maintaining relationships with key licensees and authors, handling complex Permissions licences, training Permissions Assistants and Executives, ensuring Permissions processes, data and reports are maintained to a high standard, and shaping team strategy for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Permissions and licensing requests of varying complexity (from appraisal of initial request through to final agreement), ensuring all legal and contractual requirements are met.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with licensees, authors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on copyright law and best practices related to permissions.
  • Negotiate and draft licensing agreements, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
  • Manage a portfolio of Permissions projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgets.
  • Train and mentor junior team members on Permissions procedures and best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Permissions process.

About You:

You are a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of copyright law. You have excellent communication and negotiation skills, and you are able to work independently and as part of a team.
