Position Overview

Become a vital member of the stroke care team at Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals as a Consultant in Stroke Medicine, dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-focused healthcare. This role encompasses providing direct medical care, contributing to clinical decision-making, and sharing the responsibilities of the department to ensure thorough senior clinical coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and manage patient care, including participation in ward rounds, multidisciplinary team discussions, and specialized stroke and TIA clinics.
  • Collaborate with consultants to evaluate potential patient admissions, formulate rapid assessment and triage protocols, and guarantee prompt diagnostic procedures and patient management.
  • Engage in clinical audits, governance initiatives, and quality enhancement projects to uphold high standards of care.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development, research opportunities, and continuing medical education, with dedicated time allocated for these activities.

Professional Development

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • MRCP, FRCP, or equivalent medical qualifications.
  • Completion of a minimum of four years of full-time postgraduate training.
  • Experience in UK General Medicine, particularly in Stroke.

Skills and Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in Stroke Medicine, including acute management and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
