Brackenberry Ltd is collaborating with a Local Authority to recruit a Senior Youth Worker for a 5-month contract, with the potential for extension based on client needs. We invite qualified candidates to submit their CV for consideration.

Compensation: £31.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of a borough-wide Youth Work Strategy and Delivery Model, ensuring effective execution and assessment within universal safe spaces.
  • Oversee Youth Sports Coaches in delivering impactful sports and physical activities for young individuals.
  • Manage operational schedules to guarantee adequate staffing in line with established minimum ratios for each universal safe space, while collaborating with the broader Young Tower Hamlets leadership team.
  • Develop comprehensive annual program plans in partnership with Youth Sports Coaches, Youth Support Workers, and Volunteers, ensuring that offerings are diverse, curriculum-informed, asset-based, co-produced, and responsive to local youth needs.
  • Design and implement sports and physical activities that actively engage vulnerable youth, including those in care, young carers, individuals with special educational needs or disabilities, and those at risk of exploitation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in youth work, youth justice, probation, or social work (SWE registered).
  • Proven experience in leading universal provisions for young people.
  • Experience in supervising staff and/or volunteers across various settings.
  • Background in delivering services for youth in urban areas with complex social challenges.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, equality, and improving outcomes for disadvantaged groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders to safeguard and support young people.
  • Experience in developing project proposals, securing funding, and managing budgets.
  • Proven track record in evaluating quality practices and driving continuous improvement.

  • Immediate availability or short notice is required.
  • Right to work in the U.K. is essential.
  • This position necessitates a Basic DBS.
