About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at IAC Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and equipment for our aviation products.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Manage complex projects from initial concept to launch, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
  2. Process Development: Collaborate with the AME team to create, develop, and test new processes and equipment, ensuring quality, cost, and timing targets are met.
  3. Equipment Sourcing and Installation: Lead the sourcing and installation of key manufacturing equipment, ensuring it meets quality and performance standards.
  4. Process Documentation: Develop and maintain process documentation, including PFMEAs, process flows, control plans, and standard operating instructions.
  5. Manufacturing Cell Layout and Optimization: Engage with cross-functional teams to design and optimize shop floor and manufacturing cell layouts, value stream maps, and operator training programs.
  6. Product Design Support: Collaborate with product design teams to ensure best-in-class design for manufacture.
  7. Cost Estimation and Management: Develop and manage process workbooks to generate accurate cost estimates and support commercial activities.
  8. Change Management: Manage changes through the CR system, ensuring timely submission and implementation.
  9. Quality and Root Cause Analysis: Support quality teams in the close-out of customer concerns and aid root cause identification.
  10. Equipment Installation and Contractor Management: Manage equipment installation and contractors, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  11. Cost Savings Initiatives: Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to support the company's CI roadmap.
  12. Travel and Multitasking: Travel to UK facilities and global toolmakers, and have the ability to multitask, prioritize work, and make data-driven decisions.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Significant experience in a relevant role within a 1st tier automotive supplier, preferably in a just-in-time environment.
  2. Manufacturing Processes: Experience in automotive interior trim manufacturing processes.
  3. IT Systems: Exposure to manufacturing lines highly reliant on IT systems.
  4. Lean Manufacturing: Experience of Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing processes.
  5. Computer Literacy: Computer literate with MS Project.
  6. Auto CAD: Auto CAD advantageous.
  7. Lean Manufacturing Principles: Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
