Job Description

As an Aviation Manufacturing Engineer at IAC Group, you will be responsible for managing complex products from initial concept to launch phases. You will work closely with the AME team to create, develop, and test new processes and equipment, ensuring quality, cost, and timing targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project manage complex products from initial concept to launch phases.
  2. Work with the AME team to create, develop, and test new processes and equipment.
  3. Lead the development of processes and sourcing of equipment to ensure quality, cost, and timing targets are met.
  4. Generate PFMEAs, process flows, control plans, and standard operating instructions to support pre-production and production processes.
  5. Design, develop, specify, and source key manufacturing equipment.
  6. Sign off new equipment, including management of run at rates and capability studies.
  7. Engage with cross-functional manufacturing teams to provide data and inputs for shop floor layouts, value stream mapping, operator training, and capacity studies.
  8. Support product design in the development of components to ensure best-in-class design for manufacture.
  9. Produce process workbooks to generate accurate cost estimates to support commercial activities.
  10. Manage changes through the CR system and ensure timely submission and implementation.
  11. Support quality in the close-out of customer concerns and aid root cause identification.
  12. Manage equipment installation and contractors.
  13. Generate cost-saving initiatives to support the plant's CI roadmap.
  14. Ability to travel to UK facilities and global toolmakers.
  15. Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and make data-driven decisions.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  1. Significant experience in a relevant role within a 1st-tier automotive supplier, preferably in a just-in-time environment.
  2. Experience in automotive interior trim manufacturing processes.
  3. Exposure to manufacturing lines highly reliant on IT systems.
  4. Experience of Six Sigma / Lean manufacturing processes.
  5. Computer literate with MS Project.
  6. AutoCAD advantageous.
  7. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
