Job Overview:

STS Aviation Services is a leading provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Check Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and deliver allocated maintenance inputs to schedule, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to company procedures.
  • Assist the Base Maintenance Management team as required, providing support and guidance to ensure smooth operations.
  • Line manage all staff within their agreed area of responsibility, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Issue certificates of release to service for specific aircraft types, ensuring compliance with QA044 Staff Authorisation Document.
  • Allocate tasks and responsibility within their work area, maintaining a log of progress against tasks.
  • Provide and deliver daily production briefings, updating senior management as required.
  • Develop solutions to deliver maintenance to target within budget constraints, ensuring a daily progress report is issued for aircraft under maintenance.
  • Accountable for the technical integrity of all work carried out under their control, ensuring a high level of quality and safety.
  • Accountable for the conduct and time keeping of all allocated staff, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure all husbandry and tool audit requirements are carried out and recorded, carrying out formal appraisals of hangar floor staff.
  • Responsible for continued H&S 'duty of care' of their team, ensuring all current procedures are followed.
  • Carry out DQS self-audit in line with base maintenance procedures, allocating audits to staff within their area of responsibility.
  • Assist with quality audit and support the implementation of robust closure plans, assisting the Head of Base Maintenance with budget creation and management.
Requirements:
  • Category B licensed engineers must hold C certification by aircraft type.
  • Must hold 737 Type Ratings.
  • Minimum of 5 years Base Maintenance experience as a B1 and/or B2 certifying engineer.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have a good working knowledge of Part 145 Aviation Legislation.
  • Flexible approach to working in a fast-changing environment.
  • Excellent communication, management, and interpersonal skills.
