Job Title: Aviation Operations Manager

At Menzies Aviation, we are seeking an experienced Aviation Operations Manager to join our team at Birmingham Airport. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the overall safety, financial, leadership, and operational performance of the station.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all operational activity for the station, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Develop, contribute to, and agree service delivery standards internally and externally
  • Monitor and report on performance against those standards, taking corrective action as necessary to ensure customer requirements are consistently met
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of accidents and near-misses, in accordance with our Safety Management System (SMS) and business requirements
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Safety Procedures (SSPs) and address/report as appropriate
  • Comply with Menzies Aviation's business principles for the management of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) at Birmingham Airport
  • Demonstrate experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management
  • Conduct regular inspections of all facilities, in accordance with our Safety and Operations Manual (SAOM), company, and HSSE requirements
  • Apply Company HR policies, manage employee relations, and be responsible for the recruitment of new personnel
  • Manage and assist with the preparation of budgets and the raising and issue of purchase orders to suppliers and contractors
  • Define training needs of employees and contractors involved in the prevention, control, and mitigation of major accident hazards
  • Ensure all personnel, employees, contractors, and external parties involved in the management of major accident hazards are well-informed
  • Provide daily support for the needs of all administrative and operational duties required for the safe and efficient operation of site operations
Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of general business management
  • Demonstrable experience of Health, Safety, and Environmental Management
  • Experience in an Aviation Operational Management position (desired)
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with business partners and suppliers
  • Proven extensive experience in team leadership and development
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to prioritize workload in order of urgency and importance
  • Excellent Communication skills, written and oral
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications
  • Demonstrable skills and experience of product handling and control
  • Demonstrable experience in Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Management
