Aviation Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Aviation Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at IAC Group. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for managing complex products from initial concept to launch phases.
Key Responsibilities- Project manage complex products from initial process and equipment concept into quotation and launch phases.
- Collaborate with the AME team to create, develop, and test new processes and equipment.
- Lead the development of processes and sourcing of equipment to ensure quality, cost, and timing targets are met.
- Develop PFMEAs, process flows, control plans, and standard operating instructions to support pre-production and production processes.
- Design, develop, specify, and source key manufacturing equipment.
- Sign off new equipment, including management of run at rates and capability studies.
- Engage with cross-functional manufacturing teams to provide data and inputs for shop floor layouts, value stream mapping, operator training, and capacity studies.
- Support product design in the development of components to ensure best-in-class design for manufacture.
- Produce process workbooks to generate accurate cost estimates for commercial purposes.
- Manage changes through the CR system and ensure timely submission and implementation.
- Support quality in the close-out of customer concerns and aid root cause identification.
- Manage equipment installation and contractors.
- Develop cost-saving initiatives to support the plant's CI roadmap.
- Ability to travel to UK facilities and global toolmakers.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and make data-driven decisions.
- Significant experience in a relevant role within a 1st-tier automotive supplier, preferably in a just-in-time environment.
- Experience in automotive interior trim manufacturing processes.
- Exposure to manufacturing lines highly reliant on IT systems.
- Experience of Six Sigma / Lean manufacturing processes.
- Computer literate with MS Project.
- AutoCAD advantageous.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
