Summer Camp Operations Manager

Position: Camp Manager - Summer Camp
Working Hours: 08:00-18:00, Monday-Friday (Total hours will not exceed 47.5 per week)
Compensation: £798.50 weekly salary based on age, experience, qualifications, and camp size.
Reporting Structure: Reports to Area Manager and Central Office. Barracudas is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people, and we expect all staff to uphold this commitment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate induction training and oversee the preparation days prior to camp commencement.
- Complete necessary documentation and manage high-risk activities in line with Barracudas Activity Codes of Practice.
- Implement health and safety protocols to maintain a secure environment.
- Act as the Deputy Designated Person (DP) for safeguarding, addressing child protection matters.
- Maintain regular communication with Area Managers and Central Office.
- Manage staff attendance records.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure the camp runs smoothly, including site inspections, equipment evaluations, financial tracking, inventory management, parent communication, and staff supervision.
- Delegate responsibilities to team members to ensure efficient task completion.
- Organize staff meetings to promote effective communication within the team.
- Support and guide your team to ensure seamless camp operations.
- Engage with parents and guardians as needed.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the site and storage areas.
- Serve as a liaison for school interactions.
- Evaluate staff performance for end-of-season assessments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Attendance at mandatory Senior Training events is required.
- Experience in childcare environments, holiday camps, or team leadership is essential.
- Eligibility to work in the UK is a must.
- Possession of an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or an existing enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Provision of satisfactory professional or academic references.
- Participation in and delivery of Induction Training Days is required.
- Completion of annual online training is necessary.
- Coordination of camp pack-up at the conclusion of the season.
- At least half of the senior staff should be trained in Paediatric First Aid, varying by camp size.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Adhere to health and safety regulations by following established procedures and protocols.
- Demonstrate proactivity and diligence in addressing safety concerns.
- Prepare for induction training using relevant materials.
- Maintain ultimate responsibility for health and safety at the camp.
- Conduct evaluations for each staff member at the end of their contract.
- Report any child protection issues to the designated person at Central Office.
- Ensure staff are informed of any children with additional medical or dietary needs.
- Administer necessary medications according to established protocols and complete required documentation.
- Bring swimwear daily as it may be necessary for swimming activities.
- The above list is not exhaustive, and you may be required to undertake various tasks as needed to fulfill your role within the organization and meet overall business objectives.
