Lead Practitioner in Child Wellbeing

Position Overview:
The Lead Practitioner in Child Wellbeing collaborates with educational institutions to deliver specialized emotional health and mental wellness support, contributing to initiatives aimed at enhancing the mental health of children and adolescents as outlined in the NHS Long-Term Plan.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in a relevant health care field (such as nursing, social work, or occupational therapy) or have completed the EMHP/CWP qualification, holding full registration with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g., HCPC, NMC, BPS, BABC). A robust clinical background in addressing emotional health and mental wellness challenges among children and young people is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
- Function as part of a Mental Health Support Team (MHST), providing high-quality, brief, outcome-focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people facing mild to moderate mental health challenges.
- Regularly assess clinical outcomes to ensure effective service delivery.
- Promote the mental and emotional health of children, young people, and families through evidence-based clinical practices.
- Conduct initial assessments in school and community settings, delivering a variety of early interventions for children and young people with diverse emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Act autonomously as a registered practitioner, maintaining accountability for personal actions in accordance with the professional code of conduct and organizational guidelines.
