Risk and Compliance Manager Job Description

Cavendish Maine Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Risk and Compliance Manager to join our client's team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that business processes, transactions, and corporate governance adhere to all relevant regulatory, legal, and internal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance Culture: Build effective relationships within the business to promote a positive compliance culture, leading by example as a role model.
  • Compliance Processes: Develop and enhance compliance processes in accordance with market practice to meet regulatory expectations, setting up and monitoring adequate and appropriate systems and controls.
  • Compliance Policies: Lead on the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures.
  • Compliance Advice: Provide sound compliance advice to business stakeholders and escalate material compliance issues to the Head of Risk and Compliance.
  • Team Management: Manage and motivate the compliance team to perform their duties to the highest level, achieving company KPIs and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Insurance Industry Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of insurance industry best practice and compliance standards, including governance frameworks and methodologies.
  • Compliance Experience: Previous experience in a compliance role, either for a broker/insurer or within a consultancy.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication, time management, and computer literacy skills.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders through excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Credentials: CII Certificate in Insurance and ideally working towards Diploma in Insurance.
