About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Credit Risk Manager to join our Governance, Risk and Compliance team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in managing mortgage credit risk, including propensity for default (PD) and loss given default (LGD), throughout the mortgage lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the lending policy to ensure it reflects the lending appetite for new business.
  2. Manage the mortgage underwriting process, including training & competence, process effectiveness and policy compliance.
  3. Oversee the mortgage arrears management process, including training & competence, process effectiveness and policy compliance.
  4. Review policy exceptions and proposed policy changes from Distribution, Underwriting or Products.
  5. Assess the effectiveness of the credit risk model, including inputs and outputs and any changes proposed.
  6. Understand the impact of forthcoming changes to regulations and the external environment on the Society's mortgage credit risk.
  7. Collaborate with other colleagues in Governance, Risk & Compliance, in particular operational risk, QA, prudential risk oversight and governance.
Requirements
  1. Experience working within a Credit Risk function or as a Senior Underwriter, within the Mortgage sector.
  2. Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  3. Strong organisation and planning skills.
