Tooling Technician

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and ensure the optimal functioning of all tool fitting equipment, adhering to strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular inspections and report any issues or concerns related to tool and machine condition, taking prompt action to rectify problems within your scope of authority.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement effective maintenance schedules, ensuring that all equipment is properly serviced and calibrated to meet production demands.
- Provide training and support to colleagues in tool fitting and maintenance procedures, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Participate in the setup and operation of machines, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the production process and contributing to the achievement of production targets.
- Conduct quality control checks on tool fits and insert changes, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation and de-preparation of tools, adhering to established procedures and protocols to ensure efficient and effective tool management.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles and promoting a culture of housekeeping and efficiency.
- Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process by inspecting new tooling and reporting any issues or concerns, ensuring that all new products meet the required standards of quality and functionality.
- Perform tool overhauls and services, including re-securing cavities, re-drilling and re-tapping damaged or stripped bolts, and adding core vents, as required.
- Conduct regular stock checks and advise on any shortages, ensuring that all necessary materials are available to meet production demands.
