Position Overview

Work Schedule: 30 Hours per week

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Clinical Specimen Collector to join our Community Nursing teams. This role is essential in supporting the healthcare services within the community, contributing to the overall mission of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will deliver exceptional care to patients in their residences, playing a vital role in the integrated community nursing service. The position is focused on preventing hospital admissions by providing high-quality care to individuals.

The Clinical Specimen Collector will be tasked with performing specific duties, primarily involving direct patient interaction. Responsibilities will be assigned by qualified personnel, and the individual will operate under the indirect supervision of trained staff. A person-centered approach is essential to achieve desired outcomes while adhering to organizational and team goals.

Flexibility is required, as the role involves working across a 7-day schedule to ensure coverage of the service from 8 am to 8 pm, adapting to the evolving needs of the community.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate enthusiasm and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Training

Essential Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 or an equivalent qualification in a health-related field or demonstrable experience.
  • Completion of venepuncture training.

Experience

Essential:

  • Ability to learn and successfully complete the phlebotomy competency assessment.
  • Experience working with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare-related position.
