Job summary

The accurate sorting, labelling, preparation, and storage of specimens both pre and post analysisin the blood sciences laboratory.

Main duties of the job

The main purpose of the role will be to assist Biomedical Scientists to provide a diagnostic service. Specific duties will include: assisting with sample preparation, providing support to ensure efficient work flow, maintaining some laboratory equipment and general housekeeping tasks throughout the laboratory.

Qualifications

Essential

5 GCSE (1 of which is a science subject) & laboratory experience NVQ level 2 Clinical Laboratory Science or IBMS Cert Part 1, IT qualification

Experience

Essential

Scientific / Laboratory experience. Experience of external and internal environment in which the department operates.

Desirable

Previous Healthcare Science Service experience.

Knowledge

Essential

Knowledge of laboratory techniques. Basic understanding of Human Biology.
