About the Role

If you are a seasoned support worker seeking a new opportunity, you are in the right place. Salutem Care and Education is currently in search of experienced support workers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete thorough induction training and all mandatory training, including safeguarding modules and the Wales induction framework.
  • Adhere to Salutem policies and procedures, particularly those related to health and safety.
  • Support individual young people with complex health, physical, and learning needs within the children's home.
  • Attend to the daily needs of young people and assist them in accessing and participating in various activities, including evenings and weekends.
  • Maintain registration with Social Care Wales.
  • Provide high-quality personal care and promote opportunities for independence.
  • Encourage young people to socialize and help them achieve their personal goals.
  • Understand the communication needs of young individuals.
  • Create a safe and stimulating environment for young people.
  • Promote the health and wellbeing of the young individuals.
  • Participate actively in handover meetings, key worker meetings, and liaise with colleagues and management.
  • Complete key worker activities and responsibilities with individual young people in the children's home, including those on short breaks.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals, such as social workers, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on the young individuals you work with, ensuring effective communication between the home and school, as well as with outside agencies.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians of the young individuals, ensuring appropriate information is shared efficiently.
  • Exhibit reliability and flexibility, using initiative in decision-making.
  • Attend all relevant training provided by the organization to ensure safe practice.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the home.
  • Perform sleeping-in duties as required.
  • Report to management and perform tasks as requested by a senior staff member, including additional duties appropriate to the role.
  • Be proactive in assessing and reporting risks.

Possess or be willing to work towards the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) or an equivalent qualification as deemed appropriate by the registered person.
