We invite applications from autonomous practitioners capable of delivering evidence-based complementary therapies to patients and their support networks. If you possess the experience to manage the recruitment, coordination, and development of a team of qualified volunteer complementary therapists, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

A minimum of a Level 4 Diploma in Complementary Therapy or equivalent demonstrable experience is required.

Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying service requirements related to the development of complementary therapies and ensuring the effective implementation and assessment of these services. Participation in multi-disciplinary meetings and case conferences within the Wellbeing Unit is also expected.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be tasked with:

Overseeing the organization and delivery of complementary therapies to patients with life-limiting conditions, their families, and caregivers. Leading the recruitment, coordination, and development of a team of qualified volunteer complementary therapists. Assessing service needs concerning the development of complementary therapies and ensuring their effective implementation and evaluation. Collecting evidence for audits and analyses as necessary, ensuring that practices are informed by ongoing development and a solid research foundation. Complying with local and national guidelines as well as organizational policies and procedures. Participating in and contributing to multi-disciplinary meetings and case conferences within the Wellbeing Unit. Providing guidance and support to volunteer complementary therapists. Acting as an independent practitioner to deliver evidence-based complementary therapies to patients and caregivers.

Mobility Requirements

Essential

The role requires travel to patients' homes; therefore, access to a vehicle for work purposes and possession of a full UK driving license is mandatory. Business use motor insurance is also required, which will be the responsibility of the post holder.

Proficient computer literacy, including familiarity with SystmOne databases. Ability to inspire and coordinate complementary therapy services effectively. Strong organizational skills to prioritize workload efficiently. Capability to work independently and as part of a broader multi-disciplinary team. Commitment to effective collaboration within the Wellbeing Team and across hospice services. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong listening abilities, coupled with a compassionate and empathetic demeanor. Proven negotiation and advocacy skills. Ability to initiate and manage change effectively.

Experience Requirements

Essential

Extensive post-qualification experience is required.

Desirable

Familiarity with SystmOne and IIZUKA databases. Experience in management, auditing, and evaluation is advantageous.

Qualifications

Essential

A minimum of a Level 4 Diploma in Complementary Therapy or equivalent demonstrable experience is required. Registration with a relevant governing body and possession of professional indemnity insurance is necessary.

Desirable

A degree-level qualification in a relevant field is preferred.
