The Animal & Plant Logistical Services Department plays a vital role in supporting our exceptional animal collection.
This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including collaboration with animal care staff, managing the procurement and distribution of supplies, and daily deliveries to animal departments. You will also be involved in the management of animal waste and operating Telehandler-based equipment such as front loaders, trailers, skip loaders, and grass mowers. Additionally, you will work within our live food breeding colony and assist with Browse plantations. Daily tasks will include the harvesting, collection, and distribution of browse, which consists of high-reaching vegetation utilized as animal feed.

As an Assistant in Animal & Plant Logistics, your responsibilities will include:

  • Harvesting browse from onsite plantations or offsite private properties
  • Delivering fresh produce daily to designated kitchen preparation areas
  • Picking and packing various dry goods orders for daily distribution
  • Operating a range of vehicles, including telehandlers, vans, and forklifts
  • Removing animal waste from the site using skip loaders

Qualifications

  • Valid driving license
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping
  • Practical problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience and proficiency in operating telehandlers, tractors, and forklifts
  • Certification and experience in chainsaw operation
  • Ability to tow a trailer (license CAT E)
