About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join our client's manufacturing team in Sittingbourne. As a key member of the engineering department, you will be responsible for planning and executing routine E&I preventative maintenance, leading complex problem-solving, and collaborating with colleagues across departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times, complying with company safety procedures and legislation.
  • Participate in company investigations, including root cause analysis, risk assessments, and developing maintenance procedures.
  • Function as a technical lead, making decisions and solving problems, and reporting outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Plan maintenance work in line with company policies, focusing on method statements, risk assessments, and isolation requirements.
  • Estimate the total cost of each maintenance task, considering direct labour and materials, and availability of special parts and tools.
  • Work with Production Planning and Management to create optimal maintenance and shutdown schedules.

Requirements
  • Manufacturing experience as a Lead or Senior Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineer
  • Time served with recognised qualifications
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing/engineering
  • Established understanding in core Electrical principles and infrastructure
  • Understanding of Automation, Control, and Instrumentation, together with experience in Variable speed drives
  • Understanding of relevant Electrical and Automation standards
