Position Overview:

We are currently on the lookout for an Arabic Speaking Research Analyst to join our team as part of a new initiative. In this role, you will assist in the development and execution of tailored programs aimed at engaging individuals who are at risk of online threats, with a primary focus on violent extremism and related issues. Under supervision, you will help create, implement, and sustain cross-platform strategies that connect at-risk individuals with intervention services. Additionally, you will contribute to enhancing our research methods and support our clients in comprehending online threats.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and upkeep of digital outreach initiatives.
  • Identify, gather, and analyze data from various sources, including social media and extremist content, utilizing our proprietary tools.
  • Develop both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to process and analyze extensive datasets.
  • Prepare analytical reports and present findings to clients, partner organizations, and key stakeholders.
  • Meet tight reporting deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs.
  • Share expertise on violent extremism and online threats across the organization.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying funding opportunities and building relationships with clients and partners.
  • Translate Arabic content into English as needed.
  • Foster relationships with clients and explore new project opportunities that align with their interests.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading and writing Arabic, with the ability to translate materials accurately.
  • Experience in supporting digital communication campaigns, particularly in areas such as social media analysis and evaluation.
  • Professional or research background in countering violent extremism or related online threats.
  • Experience conducting analysis and investigations using open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques.
  • Ability to sift through large volumes of data to extract valuable insights.
  • Skilled in sourcing, interpreting, and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, including social media metrics, to produce actionable reports.
  • Capable of working under pressure and managing workloads effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and completion of necessary background checks will be required.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with data retrieval using software APIs and scraping tools.
  • Qualifications in quantitative social science methods and proficiency in data visualization tools such as SQL, Python, or Tableau.
  • Deep understanding of various social media platforms.
  • Experience analyzing the impact of social media design on content dissemination and user experience.
  • Background in open-source research, online investigations, or public safety analysis.
