Position Title:
English Curriculum Coordinator (Literacy Enhancement Initiative)

Working Hours:
Full Time (35 hours per week)

As the Literacy Enhancement Initiative Coordinator, you will be responsible for designing and executing a tailored reading strategy.

Strategy Execution:
Lead and facilitate the rollout of the Comprehensive Reading Initiative.

Collaboration:
Engage with the Educational Team and Neurodiversity Specialists to assist learners with unique requirements.

Mentorship Development:
Ensure that mentors receive adequate training and support to effectively implement the reading program.

Volunteer Management:
Offer initial guidance and oversight to volunteers.
Work alongside facility staff to explore new engagement strategies and assess existing reading support mechanisms.

Strive for a 'holistic facility approach' to enhance reading.

Collaborate with educational, library teams, and Neurodiversity Support Managers.

Participate in and contribute to staff meetings and training sessions.
Engage in quarterly performance review meetings.

Assist in preparing documentation for evaluations.

Required qualifications include a relevant teaching credential (Level 2 and above).

Experience in phonics-based literacy support is essential.

Strong communication, organizational, and planning abilities are necessary.

Demonstrated time management skills and the capacity to work independently.

Awareness of educational barriers faced by individuals in correctional settings.

Proficient in IT with experience in Microsoft Office applications.
Familiarity with inspection processes and frameworks is advantageous.

Innovative mindset with a willingness to explore new initiatives.

Able to travel independently and meet security requirements.
