About the Role

As a key member of the Allied Mills Depot leadership team, you will support the Depot Manager by safely leading and motivating the Despatch and Driver Teams to ensure customer and legal compliance standards are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a Safe Working Environment
    • Engage in local safety initiatives and comply with company and legal health and safety standards to create a safe working environment for the Despatch and Driver teams.
  • Analyse and Utilise Depot Management Systems
    • Analyse information from the Depot Management Systems to make informed decisions on productivity, product flow, and resource allocation.
  • Lead and Motivate the Despatch and Transport Teams
    • Set clear accountabilities and drive continuous improvement to lead and motivate the Despatch and Transport teams.
  • Daily Operations of 3rd Party Work
    • Oversee the daily operations of 3rd party work.
  • Develop Performance and Tactical Plans
    • Work closely with the Depot Manager to develop performance and tactical plans for the Depot.
  • Drive Engagement and Communication
    • Drive engagement within the teams through effective communication plans and regular briefings and 1-to-1s with the teams.
  • Deputise for the Depot Manager
    • Deputise for the Depot Manager during holidays and absence.
  • Build Relationships and Share Best Practice
    • Build effective relationships within the wider Regional Team and across the Transport and Despatch leaders in the business to ensure best practice is shared to enhance performance.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience in Transport or Despatch Management
    • Experience in a Transport or Despatch Management role in a commercially challenging environment.
  • Leadership Experience
    • Previous leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of Transport and Warehouse Management Systems
    • Knowledge of transport and warehouse management systems.
  • Hold TMCPC
    • Hold TMCPC.
  • Strong Analytical and Communication Skills
    • Strong analytical skills and strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into concise messages.
  • Results-Focused
    • Results-focused, constantly looking to drive performance and develop CI initiatives.
