Job Title: Lead Engineer - CFD Process Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer - CFD Process Specialist to join our Andretti Cadillac team at our Silverstone facility. As a key member of our Aerodynamics department, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers responsible for developing and implementing CFD processes and tools to support the design and development of our race cars.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of engineers responsible for CFD process development and implementation.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical leadership and expertise in CFD process development, implementation, and optimization.
  • Methodology Development: Develop and implement methodologies, tools, and workflows to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our CFD process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Aerodynamicists and CFD engineers to solve problems and develop processes.
  • Process Delivery: Ensure the delivery of robust, observable, testable, and performant processes.
  • Tool Optimization: Oversee the optimization, maintenance, and support of new and existing codes, processes, and toolkits.
  • Discipline Collaboration: Work and contribute across multiple disciplines of the CFD group, including process, external flows, internal flows, thermal modeling, and pipeline development.
  • Software Engineering: Lead software engineers to translate engineering codes into robust applications.
  • HPC Strategy: Assist and contribute to the long-term HPC strategy.
  • Process Management: Manage the day-to-day activities of the CFD process group.
  • User Support: Provide support to users of the CFD process.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Multiple years' relevant experience in a similar role within the motorsport industry.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of fluid physics, numerical methods, and turbulence modeling.
  • Programming Skills: Experience in programming (C++, Python, Java, or VBA) and experience with STAR-CCM+ and open-source CFD codes.
  • HPC Experience: Experience with HPC hardware and systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders and directors.
  • IT Skills: Strong levels of IT skills, including MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Culture Fit: Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
