Job Summary

Aston Martin Formula One Team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Aerodynamicist to join our team. As a key member of our aerodynamics department, you will play a critical role in delivering the aerodynamic objectives of our race cars.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of aerodynamic performance strategies to improve our current and future race cars
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure aerodynamic intent is realized
  • Analyze and understand the results of wind tunnel and computational fluid dynamics tests
  • Develop and iterate new geometric solutions to aerodynamic problems using computer-aided design
  • Oversee wind tunnel sessions to ensure they run smoothly and achieve their targets
  • Improve the aerodynamic development methodology and processes
  • Mentor and develop less experienced aerodynamicists

Requirements

  • Excellent engineering degree with a specialization in aerodynamics or equivalent
  • Thorough understanding of aerodynamics and ability to apply that knowledge
  • Strong work ethic and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Several years of recent experience at the forefront of Formula 1 aerodynamic development
  • Technical leadership and mentoring skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
