Job Description

**Job Title:** Principal Quality Engineer

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Quality Engineer to join our team at Assystem. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality assurance, management, and control services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Client Projects by providing quality assurance, management, and control services.
  • Ensure client and supply-chain adherence to contracted quality requirements.
  • Support Client Programmes in achieving adherence with Project-wide quality arrangements.
  • Establish and implement project-specific quality arrangements.
  • Ensure the implementation of quality for all activities within the scope of the programme.
  • Work in close collaboration with all other project functions and the supply-chain to ensure project quality is delivered consistently.
  • Lead project quality direction and provide leadership and support on the application of specific quality activities.
  • Define quality arrangements for the safe, efficient, and right-first-time delivery of project activities.
  • Approve Project Quality Plans and Manufacturing Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Direct and undertake surveillance/inspection activities.
  • Provide guidance on acceptability criteria and whether or not product quality is being achieved or diminished.
  • Ensure data capture and analysis of quality metrics.
  • Have oversight of the non-conformance process and facilitate timely closure of non-conformance reports.
  • Contribute to the planning of work stream and cross-project audits.
  • Lead a team of Quality Practitioners.
  • Deliver day-to-day quality management activities requested by the Client.
  • Lead quality records reviews and checks.
  • Participate in the production/review of Programme Quality Delivery Arrangements Plan and specific Manufacturing Inspection and Test plans.
  • Support the Client by establishing effective Quality Assurance, Manufacturing/Site Surveillance programmes/plans.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are established with respect to the provision of Quality Records or 'End of Reports' by sub-contractors.
  • Support the effective close out of non-conformances.
  • Support Quality Auditors in the prompt resolution of audit findings.
  • Ensure effective participation in Programme and Project risk/opportunity reviews.
  • Participate in and lead investigations related to quality issues.
  • Provide leadership in the provision of regular quality reports.

Requirements:

  • Experience in large/complicated project environments, preferably in the nuclear or heavily regulated sector.
  • Significant focus on Product/Project Quality role.
  • Specific engineering discipline knowledge.
  • Dynamic individual with a solid understanding of quality assurance and control principles and process management in projects.
  • Understanding of working in an international quality environment.
  • Experience planning and conducting Internal and Supplier Audits.
  • Ability to carry out unsupervised inspections to appropriate standards.
  • Experience in the review of Quality Records and analysis of quality data.
  • Pro-active and flexible, with the ability to work on own initiative across a broad range of issues.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English language, preferably with some French or second language skills.
  • Member Grade Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and a Chartered Quality Practitioner or equivalent.
  • Formally recognised qualification in Quality, e.g. Diploma or Advanced diploma in Quality.
  • Qualified to (preferably engineering) Diploma/Degree level as a minimum.
