Oxford Economics, a leading global economic research and consultancy firm, is seeking an Economist to join our Macroeconomic Modelling and Scenarios team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop bespoke scenarios for strategic planning, stress testing, and asset allocation strategies
- Support financial sector clients with asset return modelling and scenario analysis
- Lead research on the macroeconomic impacts of climate change
- Work with the Oxford Economics' GEM model to produce regulatory stress tests and economic scenarios
- Write research reports and briefings on climate-related issues and economic scenarios
- Improve the properties of the GEM model, including enhancements to equities, government bond yields, and credit spreads
- 1-2 years of work experience as an economist or related field
- Strong education in Economics to at least an undergraduate level
- Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of current economic and policy challenges
- Previous experience in using applied macroeconomic models for forecasting and scenario analysis
- Knowledge of statistical modelling software, such as Python, R, and EViews
