Teaching Personnel is committed to fostering an inclusive and nurturing atmosphere where every child can excel. We are currently in search of a dedicated and skilled Sports Coach to join our team and positively influence the lives of children with special educational needs.

Position Overview:

As a Sports Coach, your role will be pivotal in engaging and supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) through the medium of sports. Your coaching skills will be instrumental in keeping children active, promoting teamwork, and enhancing their overall health and well-being. It is essential to establish strong, trusting relationships with students, especially those who may exhibit challenging behaviors, to help them navigate their learning obstacles.

Key Duties:

  • Design and execute an inclusive sports program that addresses the varied needs of all students.
  • Encourage participation in diverse physical activities that enhance fitness, coordination, and social skills.
  • Create a safe and encouraging environment where students feel appreciated and motivated to engage.
  • Collaborate with SEN staff and other educators to customize activities for individual requirements.
  • Develop strong, trusting connections with students to comprehend their specific challenges and aspirations.
  • Utilize effective strategies to manage and positively redirect challenging behaviors.
  • Track and report on students' progress, adjusting plans as needed to ensure ongoing engagement and development.
  • Advocate for a positive perspective on physical activity and its advantages for mental and physical health.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Sports Coach, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of special educational needs and experience working with children with SEN.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a talent for building trust and rapport with students.
  • Capability to create and modify inclusive sports programs that cater to all students' needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive impact in children's lives.
  • Relevant coaching qualifications and certifications.
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviors with a composed and constructive approach.
