Principal Data Engineer (GCP)

Job Summary:

VIPU Limited is seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust and compliant data processes on Google Cloud Platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data ingestion, quality, modelling, transformation, security, and monitoring processes
  • Collaborate with the Principal Cloud Engineer and Data Architect to design reliable data pipelines
  • Communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Lead the development of data governance principles, including data dictionaries, master data management, data lineage, data privacy laws, and personal identifiable information management
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of query optimisation techniques and refine complex SQL queries
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure data-driven decision making

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years in Data Engineering roles
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Over 3 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Deep expertise in SQL and Data Lake/Warehouse solutions
  • Advanced skills in programming languages such as SQL, Python, Java, or Scala
  • Extensive knowledge of data governance principles
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Scrum framework, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
