About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our 'one touch' People Advisory Service Team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will provide first-line, expert advice and guidance on all HR policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment for all categories of staff, as well as associated post-employment issues in line with Employment Law and best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, and associated post-employment issues.
  • Contribute towards the ongoing development of the People website, enhancing the provision of resources, tools, advice, and guidance for staff and managers for routine HR enquiries.
  • Support the job evaluation process through the application of consistent, accurate, and solutions-focused advice in line with trust policies and procedures, Agenda for Change terms and conditions of employment, and best practice.
  • Undertake formal investigations through the application of the just and learning culture into employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, bullying, and harassment, and performance improvement, enabling positive changes in behaviors, organizational learning, and embedding a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, harassment, and discrimination.
  • Support with the management of professional registration lapses as guided by Trust policy and procedures.
Requirements
  • HR Knowledge acquired through relevant training and experience, Level 5 CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) to degree equivalent level.
  • Evidence of recent Continuing Professional Development.
  • Recent experience in HR, including providing generalist HR advice.
  • Experience of preparing, analyzing, and presenting case reports.
  • Up-to-date and thorough working knowledge of Employment Law and Human Resource Best Practice.
