LTF Recruitment is collaborating with a partner educational institution to recruit a Student Support and Welfare Coordinator.


Role Objective:
To deliver individualized pastoral care to students, both in one-on-one settings and small group environments. This position emphasizes safeguarding, serving as the primary contact for any safeguarding issues raised by staff, visitors, or guardians.

Main Responsibilities in Pastoral Care:
1. Manage a caseload of students needing intervention to enhance academic success, attendance, engagement, and address barriers to learning.
2. Provide comprehensive support and guidance for learners, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Child Protection concerns, Looked After Children, Previously Looked After Children, and Care Leavers.
3. Offer assistance to a designated group of Young Carers, including identifying Young Carers, tracking their progress, and collaborating with external organizations.
4. Organize and facilitate meetings with parents, guardians, social workers, and students as necessary, in conjunction with tutors.
5. Participate in meetings to support Looked After Children, such as termly Personal Education Plan (PEP) meetings or case reviews as required based on assigned caseloads.

Main Responsibilities in Safeguarding:
1. Serve as the initial point of contact for any safeguarding, child, and adult protection concerns, providing prompt and relevant support and guidance to ensure student safety.
2. Conduct risk assessments of safeguarding situations to ensure students are adequately protected and supported, collaborating with Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads as necessary.
3. Coordinate with various College departments as part of the ongoing monitoring and support for students following safeguarding concerns.
4. Stay informed about current legislation, statutory requirements, and other guidance related to safeguarding and child and adult protection.
